ANNOUNCEMENTS
For the safety of our patients and staff, patients who have COVID-19 symptoms will be provided a telemedicine visit or we may direct you to a facility, such as urgent care or a local pharmacy for testing. We are not currently performing COVID-19 testing.
OUR SERVICES
Our internal medicine providers believe in treating the entire person in a whole-body approach. Out side of providing our patients with excellent primary care we provide a wide variety of laboratory and electrocardiography services. We perform our own EKG’s, Trigger point injections, Skin Lesion Excision, and Other Services:
- Adult health and wellness
- Annual physical exams
- Consultation on chronic medical illnesses and problems
- Preventive health screenings
- Women’s health services
- Abscess incision and drainage
- Steroid knee injections
- Coordination of patient care with specialists and surgeons

For your convenience and peace of mind, a physician is always available after regular office hours. Generally, a patient can expect to see his or her own physician at each visit. However, occasions arise when your physician is in the hospital, rehab facility or on vacation; in that case you may see a different physician. We do ask that you please notify the office 24 hours in advance if you are unable to keep your appointment.

At Internists of Central PA, we function as a Medical Home practice, taking a team-based approach to your healthcare. Our partnership includes you, your primary clinician, and a dedicated healthcare team working together to meet all your medical needs. We provide tools and education to help you manage your health effectively.
You can easily reach your Medical Home team during business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:45 pm) by calling 717-774-1366 to arrange an appointment or discuss your healthcare. We also offer a secure online system for communicating with your healthcare team and receiving clinical advice. After-hours, an on-call provider is available at the same number for urgent matters. For emergencies, please call 911. To ensure seamless care, please inform us if you are treated by another provider, so we can coordinate your healthcare.
An Internist is a medical specialist with advanced training in diagnosing and treating complex, non-surgical diseases. Internists undergo years of additional education to gain expertise in managing complicated health conditions. At Internists of Central PA, we specialize in Internal Medicine, using evidence-based guidelines to create personalized care plans. We treat patients aged 18 and older, except by special referral for subspecialty issues.
We view healthcare as a partnership, where patients, physicians, nurses, and office staff work together for the best possible outcomes. While each physician cares for their own patients, urgent appointments may sometimes be handled by another available physician. We also collaborate with hospitals, urgent care centers, and other providers to ensure continuity of care. One of our physicians is always on call for emergencies after hours and on weekends.
We here at Internists of Central Pa function as a Medical Home practice. What that means is we take a team based approach to providing health care services. A partnership develops between the patient, his or her primary clinician, and a health care team to work with you to meet all of your health care needs. We provide education and tools to help manage your health.
You can communicate with a Medical Home team member (which is the doctor and or his phone attendant) anytime during normal business hours. We have implemented a Web-based computer system that will allow you to electronically communicate with your healthcare team. This will allow you to receive clinical advice on your health maintenance. We will provide you with more information on how to enroll at your first appointment with us. You can contact your medical home team directly to arrange an appointment or to discuss your healthcare needs by calling 717-774-1366 Monday-Friday (except holidays) between the hours of 8:00 am 4:45pm. Outside of normal business hours, for urgent matters you may call 717-774-1366 and an on-call provider will call you back. Please continue to call 911 for all emergencies. It will be necessary for you to let the Medical Home team know if you are seen by any other provider. This will allow us to continue to coordinate your healthcare needs.
An Internist is a medical specialist with extended training in the diagnosis of disease and the treatment of nonsurgical disease. Internists gain proficiency only after years of training beyond those necessary for their medical degree. This longer training provides extensive knowledge and expertise in the details and complications of disease. Our practice specializes in internal Medicine and follows evidence based guidelines to create individual care plans. We limit our patients to older than 18 years of age, except on special referral from other physicians because of particular subspecialty problems. We view our practice as a health care partnership with important participatory roles for you as a patient, as well as for physicians, nurses, laboratory personnel, and all other office staff.
Each physician cares for his or her own patients to the maximum extent possible. We collaborate with other clinician by obtaining and sharing medical information with hospitals, urgent care centers and other providers. However, appointments for emergencies or urgent problems may sometimes have to be made with physician’s who have an open appointment on a given day. One physician is “on call’ for emergencies after hours and on the weekend.
Internists of Central Pennsylvania will begin charging a $25 fee for appointments canceled with less than twenty four hour notice and no show appointments.
